Today, you will have a choice to explore the Washington, D.C. National Zoo or National Mall which houses the Smithsonian Museums. Our first stop is at the Zoo, from furry to feathery and sleek to slithery, the zoo is a great way to learn about our environment and its interesting inhabitants. Our second stop is at the National Mall which houses a wealth of historical facts, artifacts and interesting stories. Take time to visit the Natural History Museum, Museum of American History, Holocaust Museum, National Gallery of Art or the National Air & Space Museum to name a few. We will arrive approximately 10:30 am and will depart at 5:30 pm from the Smithsonian and 6:00 pm from the Zoo. The day is yours to do as you please.

Mount Vernon Estate

Mount Vernon is the most popular historic estate in America and a lasting reminder of the life and legacy of the “Father of Our Country”. Your journey into our nation’s history begins with a tour of Washington’s home acquired by George and Mary in 1754. Over the next 45 years, Washington expanded the home to reflect his status as a Virginia gentleman personally overseeing every detail of design, construction and decoration. Next, you will have a 3-course lunch of delicious regional and colonial cuisine served by costumed wait staff included at the charming Mount Vernon Inn. After lunch, enjoy a 40-minute sightseeing cruise on the Potomac River along the estate’s waterfront. Once back on land, take time to stroll through the remainder of the estate at your leisure. Visit the tomb that houses the remains of George, Mary and other family members and see the Slave Memorial and Burial Ground. Holocaust Museum & Arlington

Today, we visit Washington, DC to explore our nation’s history and pay tribute to the many service men and women who have given their lives so that we may enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Upon arrival, your first stop will be at Arlington National Cemetery. Situated on 624 acres, the cemetery grounds honor those who have served this great nation by providing a sense of tranquil beauty and peace for those who have been laid to rest within the hallowed grounds. Included in your visit is an interpretive tram tour making stops at the Kennedy grave sites, the Tomb of the Unknowns and The Arlington House - the Robert E. Lee Memorial. At the conclusion of your visit, you will be dropped at the National Mall to tour the Smithsonian buildings at your leisure and have lunch on you own. Next, you will have time to explore the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. The Holocaust Museum is a living memorial whose mission is to inspire citizens and leaders at home and worldwide to abolish hatred, prevent senseless killing and promote human dignity. Pentagon Tour & Smithsonian

The Pentagon walk-through tour highlights the missions of the 5 Armed Forces, Office of the Secretary of Defense and Joint Staff and includes colorful displays and historic photographs depicting significant moments in our military’s past. Due to strict security policies, the tour must be booked and paid in full no later than 90 days prior to the trip’s date. All U.S. Citizens must provide their first, middle and last name, city and state, Social Security Number and date of birth (non-citizens must present passport or visa number and country of origin).
